i love the library

“The burning bush was not a miracle. It was a test. God wanted to find out whether or not Moses could pay attention to something for more than a few minutes. When Moses did, God spoke.

The trick is to pay attention to what is going on around you long enough to behold the miracle with out falling asleep. There is another world, right here within this one, whenever we pay attention.” Rabbi Lawrence Kushner

Yep, that's good. I wonder if I've made it to five minutes yet.

As I look at the picture of the man staring at the books on the shelf, I am reminded of how many adventures are contained between the covers of each book.

It's funny how we have sayings like "don't judge a book by its cover."

In light of Rabbi Kushner's quote, could we have passed by the miracle of people in our midst because of their cover?

Maybe my idea of library just got bigger.

This statement alone held my attention for a few minutes. It's so hard in our ADD culture to keep our attention focused on anything that doesn't jump out at us. Spending time finding the beauty in something is a miracle in itself.
