wisdom from the sages

The Lord travels in all directions
at once.

The Lord arrives from all directions
at once.

Wherever we are, we find that
He has just departed.

Wherever we go, we find that
He has just arrived before us.

Each living creature moved in the direction of its faces; in whichever direction the Spirit wanted to go, they went, without turning as they moved - thus the appearance of the living creatures.

Brian & I are reading Ezekiel right now this was one of the verses that stuck out to me.

I was imagining how un-nerving this would be to actually witness. When we watch someone move; their body language gives us a pretty good indication as to what direction they will head.

I wonder if this freaked Ezekiel out, I wonder if it felt chaotic or "too messy" to deal with?

Thomas Merton is one of my favorite writers - Can't wait to share libraries with you guys!
